What is a Corvette E-Ray

The E-Ray is one of the fastest cars on the planet, for any price. Not only 0 to 60 in 2.1 seconds, but putting laps around a track. Because of the balance of the all-wheel drive, wide tires, the average driver (no racing experience) will put faster laps than they would in a Z06.  Road & Track called it laps without “Drama”

And per R&T first drive it does it without Drama.

All you want to know about a Corvette E-Ray

The First All-Wheel drive Corvette.

160 electric HP to front wheels 495 ICE HP to the Rear wheels.

This 2025 Corvette E-Ray is Chevrolet's swiftest Corvette to date, delivering year-round performance and composure. What's more, this car is yet to be assembled, granting you the freedom to choose from an extensive palette of 14 exterior colors, 12 interior colors, and various seat configurations. Tailor it precisely to your desires. And did we mention that this is the fastest Corvette ever, accelerating from 0-60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds?

The E-Ray is meticulously designed to be the ultimate Gentleman's/Ladies Track Car. With its all-wheel drive, broad tires, and harmonious power distribution, even casual track enthusiasts that only engaging in a few sessions a year will experience faster and safer laps.

Mark Reuss, General Motors president, remarked on the historical significance of the Chevrolet Corvette, stating, “In 1953, the enthusiastic reaction to the Chevrolet Corvette concept kicked off seven decades of passion, performance, and American ingenuity. E-Ray, as the first electrified, all-wheel-drive Corvette, takes it a step further and expands the promise of what Corvette can deliver.”

Crafted to be the go-to car for Corvette owners in any season, the E-Ray eliminates the need to stow away your Corvette for the winter. Leveraging electrification, it elevates the driving experience with impressive straight-line performance, exhilarating cornering, and unwavering confidence in all weather conditions — attributes only achievable with eAWD.

The E-Ray distinguishes itself as the sole sports car integrating two distinct propulsion systems, blending naturally aspirated V-8 power with electrified responsiveness through eAWD, making it truly one of a kind.

Explaining the design philosophy, vehicle dynamics engineer Stephen Padilla noted, “The stability that’s built into the car is a little bit on purpose, and a little bit comes for free. Given the broader mission envelope of the E-Ray, we set up the suspension to yield a Corvette that’s easier to quickly get comfortable with compared to the Z06. And the fundamentals of an all-wheel-drive platform are inherently going to contribute to that goal.”

Boasting a 2.5-second 0-60 mph time, the E-Ray stands as the swiftest production Corvette in history, effortlessly conquering the quarter-mile in just 10.5 seconds.

Tadge Juechter, executive chief engineer of Corvette, emphasized, “Corvettes must provide an exhilarating driving experience on backroads and tracks, and E-Ray nails it. The electrification technology enhances the feeling of control in all conditions, adding an unexpected degree of composure.”

The E-Ray delivers an instantaneous surge of power from low-end torque — a fundamental aspect of the Corvette driving experience. Generating a total of 655 horsepower from the 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8 and an electric motor, this power is efficiently distributed, with 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque to the rear axle, complemented by an additional 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque sent through the front wheels via a 1.9 kWh battery pack strategically located between the seats.
